Girls are first introduced to French in the Lower Prep and language skills are honed in the Upper Prep.

Through lively, rewarding and interesting activities, strong foundations are laid for language learning. All four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are introduced in a structured and progressive way, although the primary focus is on the development of strong oral skills. Teaching methods are multi-sensory in order to accommodate all learning styles and foster a sense of achievement for all pupils.

Year 6 girls take part in a residential trip to France where they practise their language skills and learn about the French way of life in a bustling market town.
